Introduction
Fouress Compact Seal Butterfly Valve (Model – 4S-V515A)
Fouress Compact Seal Butterfly Valve outperforms conventional valves such as gate valves and globe valves in several aspects, particularly in terms of lightweight construction (approximately one-third to one-fifth the weight of conventional valves), fewer component parts, elimination of flange gaskets, and economical operation and maintenance.
The valve seat is constructed from a strong, replaceable synthetic rubber. Fouress’ proprietary pressure-touch seating mechanism ensures very low operating torque, tight shut-off with zero leakage, compact actuator selection, and extended service life.
Typical applications include pump rooms of large air-conditioning plants, cooling towers, heat exchanger inlets and outlets, and control butterfly valve duties. These valves are also widely used in ships for engine room cooling water systems, smoke discharge systems, and in desulphurization and denitration plants in power stations.
The Compact Seal Butterfly Valve is extensively used in paper and pulp industries, oil refineries, steel and fertilizer plants, sewage treatment plants, water supply schemes, and in air and gas lines.
Features
Fouress Compact Seal Butterfly Valve (Model – 4S-V515A)
- No frictional contact between disc and rubber seat, resulting in near-zero frictional resistance and significantly reduced operating torque.
- When the disc contacts the tapered projection of the rubber seat, a complete seal is achieved, ensuring longer service life.
- Fully closed position is 90˚ + α, enabling enhanced sealing performance when the disc presses against the valve seat projection.
- Lever handle valves include a lever stopper that fixes the disc securely in position.
- Gear-operated valves use worm gear mechanisms, eliminating concerns about accurate complete closure positioning.
