FOURESS KNIFE GATE VALVES
THE SHARP SOLUTION TO HEAVY FLUID SHUT-OFF PROBLEMS
Sludges, Slurries, Powders, and Problem Fluids challenge today’s Power, Mining & Steel, Pulp and Paper, Chemical, Textile, and Sewage plants. FOURESS Knife Gate Valves are specially designed and manufactured to meet this challenge. A precision-buffed knife plate cuts even the heaviest sludges sharply without erosion. One-piece trim provides corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant, high-performance shut-off over a long service life. Fouress compact, lightweight Knife Gate Valves are available in a wide range of materials and trim options to suit various applications.
Over the years, we have supplied more than 30,000 Knife Gate Valves to customers in India and abroad for Water, Waste Water, Paper, Pulp, Sugar, and Power Plants including FGD plants, both in standard and custom-engineered designs. Out of these, nearly 10,000 valves have been supplied for projects outside India.
Fouress also has the distinction of supplying very large size Knife Gate Valves to two major Waste Water Treatment Plants in Singapore and Hong Kong. In Singapore, we supplied 2 Nos. Bonneted Knife Gate Valves fabricated using SS 316L material in 3000mm size to Public Utility Board (PUB), Singapore for their Changi Waste Water Reclamation Plant during 2004–05.
We have also supplied 2 Nos. 3600mm and 2 Nos. 3000mm Knife Gate Valves with Super Duplex Steel Liners to Harbour Area Treatment Scheme (HATS Projects – Stage 2A) in Hong Kong. These two 3600mm Knife Gate Valves are perhaps the largest Knife Gate Valves supplied by any manufacturer in the world.
Features
- Non Corrosive Body: The stainless steel inner body is welded to the cast iron gland for lined valves. Fully stainless steel body option is also available in both cast and fabricated designs.
- Precision Buffed Stainless Steel Knife Plate: The stainless steel knife plate is precision buffed for leak-tight shutoff. Its knife-like edge cuts and shuts off even heavy, high-viscosity fluids.
- Choice of Three Different Seat Rings: In addition to the standard stainless steel seat ring, Rubber and Teflon seat rings are available as options. The soft seal (Rubber/Teflon) can be replaced in-situ. Bidirectional sealing is also available on request.
- Plane Valve Seat to Resist Build-Up: The plane surface of the valve seat has no recesses to harbor heavy fluid deposits that could build up and affect valve performance.
- Bonneted Option Available: Bonneted design option is available on request.
- Leak-Tight Multilayer Gland Packing: The gland packing consists of Teflon / Teflon impregnated / vegetable yarn layered with molded rubber. This chemical-resistant packing set provides total sealing of the gland.
- Bosses for Positive Seating: Two bosses are welded to the valve seat. These bosses press the knife plate strongly against the side of the seat ring to ensure bubble-tight shutoff.
- Smooth Hand Wheel Opening/Closing: The double-threaded screw on the stem makes opening and closing smooth and speedy.
